July , Great waves and Tsunamis... Nature is paying back!!!

  Thats it crew, unfortunatelly its already a routine the news of trajedies around here... terrorist attacks, eartquakes, volcanos going active, tsunamis... nothing to do with the island of Bali or Indonesia of the old days... the progress has also arrived on full power, specially at the zone of the beaches of the Bukit... asphalt, losmens and hotels, restaurants, etc... at Uluwatu, in the cave, drippings of funny smell coming from the warungs right above; before arriving at the parking lot another point of weird smell... a completelly differrent view everywhere, what used to be nature now has become concrete... more trash, more polution, more noise... less wild animals like the monkeys more and more rare on the beaches of the Bukit... Besides these characteristic factors of an unstopping and unplanned progress, we have on our faces the synthoms shown by the planet...

  Right on July on Bali we have cold water, strong winds, swell arrivals always togheter with strange climate conditions and heavy rain totally out of place and time. You dont need to be a specialist to realize that the planet start to show signs of stress because of so much lack of respect and greed done by this virus called human race that take so much without giving nothing back... Really sad to live on this transition time and try to imagine what will be left for the future generations.

  Apart from all of that, the waves are still breaking and the month of July has been really consistent... we had 3 swells that even without showing the perfect conditions of the old days had some solid waves... All the spots on the bukit were on fire for many days!!!

  Another important factor was the definitive consolidation of Uluwatu as the area of the real surf crew of Brasil and other countries; as i have promised, after leaving Padang i started a promotional work of this area and today the 2 guest houses (Emma bungalows, Sunny accomodation) next to were i live are full of brazilians; i even teached a balinese friend "Wayan" owner of the restaurant "Rencang Junior" how to cook the traditional brazilian "PF" with sweet fried potato and all...For the first time in history of Bali the brazilians have a place where they can eat their real "PF": white rice with black beans, salad, sweet or regular fried potato, fish, chicken or beef...all this for only US$ 3,00 at the restaurant next to where i live, the Tete Bali Inn, at only 5 minutes from Uluwatu beach.

  We also have been making a lot of confraternization at Tetes where i cook for the crew and frequently we have people from other guest houses moving up to this area to participate on the lunches and dinners that we have been cooking on the now busy Tete's kitchen.

  At this moment we reach the middle of the season and now we can only wait and hope that the conditions get right again so the famous perfection so common on the old days start to show its face again and the natural trajedies calm down for a while. We would like to register here our feelings to the people of Indonesia, specially the relatives of the victims of the tsunamis and earthquakes.
