We
were right on the middle of a totally flat week on the Bukit
andon the island of Bali… we were surfing Uluwatu with
1 foot on the bigger sets for already a few days when I told
my flat surfing buddies Michael from California and Brad from
New Zeland that I knew a far away place that with those tides
could have some condition as long as we arrived there early
in the morning... a few hours later we had almost everything
ready to hit the road on our bikes on the direction of “Pasir
Hitam”.
The road goes past the inside of the island with some amazing
views and besides a few stops because of the rain that came
and went we arrived just before sunset and went for aquick
splash with waves of 1 to 2 foot.
We went to sleep in a little hotel by the ocean and on the
next day before sunrise we were already in the water surfing
alone 2 to 3 feet waves that were breaking left and right
allowing a few good turns… afew hours later the cars
start to arrive from Kuta but were already stoked and didn’t
mind the crowd that took the place over.
It’s like the saying goes: “On Bali a flat day
is a surfingday…you just have to know where to look!!”
