SURF SPOTS
DREAMLAND
Dreamland

Until few years ago, Dreamland was an empty beach with no warungs and hardly any surfers in the water. Today Dreamland is one of Bali´s coolest beaches. During the high season, Dreamland gets full of good looking people specially brazilians and Italians in total relax and where most of the girls make topless. It has also been the venue for many of the famous "Full moon parties". It´s a very popular wave amongst europeans and beginners as it is a very easy wave and the only that doesn´t break on a reef bottom.

Best conditions:
3 to 5 feet swell with south influence, dead low tide and E.S.E. wids (Trade winds=off shore)

Localization:
Dreamland is situated in between Bingin and Balangan.

Type of wave:
The waves in Dreamland break on sand bottom that is deposited on top of the reef. There are 2 very easy waves, one left and one right breaking in front of each other separated by a 50 meters channel. It´s possible to do a couple of turns in the outside to then connect to the inside where you can make a few more maneuvers to finish literally on the sand or on the rocks.

Access:
The same access to go to Balangan, by a paved road that was built for a millionaire project "Pecatu Indah Resort" that is now stopped.

Crowd factor:
As it´s not a challenging wave and is surrounded by so many world class waves, Dreamland when crowded is very mellow with 90% of the surfers in the water being beginners (real kooks).

Infraestructure:
There are in the area a always growing number of warungs that serve basically local food, some snacks, drinks, massage, etc. Where you can rent complete beds with mosquito net and sleep to the sounds of the waves.

Tips:
Beware of the current that drag you out on the dropping tide ant put you out of position. Bring a backpack with sunglasses, sunscreen and sarong as you will stay on the beach longer than planned. Don´t leave without watching the sunset with a bintang in hand after surfing, it´s worth it!!!!
