NUSA LEMBONGAN - LOMBOK E SUMBAWA

• Lombok

- Desert Point:
This famous left can break for as long as 300 meters growing in size as it approaches the shallow coral reef. On the right days will produce memorable barrels.
It´s a very fickle wave that depends on the tide completely. Best at dead low tide with 3 to 6 feet swell.

Rain season (nov./mar.)

If the trip takes place during the rain season, other spots can be surfed such as:

- Mawi:
Lefts and rights that need at least a small swell (3 feet)to work and over 6 feet get out of control.Best at incoming medium tide with the “Trade Winds” E.S.E. or light winds if from other direction.

- Belongas:
Famous for the sharks spotted in the area, the waves here are a left hand at the east side of the bay that can get good sometimes and a powerful right hand that breaks around the west entrance of the bay.

- Kuta:
A powerful and hollow left that needs 3 to 4 feet swell and light winds and breaks at west side of the reef. There is also a right hand at the east side of the reef but very inconsistent rarely getting good.

- Sigar:
A short right that can produce some tubes. Situated a bit more to the east of Kuta and is better surfed with small swell (2 to 4 feet) and medium to high tide with light or no winds.

- Grupuk:
This fishing village has got many spots worth checking such as the left on the east side of the bay shaped as Mickey mouse, a right in the middle of the bay that gets good at 3 to 5 feet swell and another really good right at the most west part of the bay on the same side of Grupuk village. All the waves in this bay need light winds to work.

• Ekas:

- Inside Ekas:
Right hand situated at about 700 meters from Outside Ekas, needs a big swell and medium tide to work, can get really good on days of light wind.

- Outside Ekas:
Good left hand close to entrance of the channel that can go for as long as 200 meters on the right days.

- Sereweh and Upper Sereweh:
Situated at the most southeast part of Lombok, these rights break better at medium or high tide with a medium swell and light or no winds. Upper Sereweh can produce good barrels.
