"It's worth mentioning that in Bali there is not almost any
kind of violence on the streets as usually thieves and robbers
are lynched to death when captured by the local people unless
they have the luck of police arriving at the scene before that;
Besides that the cases of armed robbery are very rare as there
are very few guns on the street and it's ilegal for the citzens
to have one."
- In Bali you can exchange almost any currency except for third
world countries money.
- Remember that all dollar bills have different exchange rates
with the 100 dollar note with the big head being the highest rate
and the 1 dollar note the lowest. Remember to travel with new
notes, without any ink marks and of high values. Beware of 100
dollar notes from the series of the year 1996 as they are not
accepted anywhere because there are too many fake notes with this
year series.

of selling you something in case they know you are leaving.

not very easy to bargain covered in gold.

to learn a few basic sentences of the language that are very helpful
to bargain and to get rid of annoying sellers. Ex.: Saya bankrupt,
lihat aja. (I´m broke, just looking).
• HEALTH
- It´s always recommended to travel with health insurance
for occasional emergencies.
- In case of trips to other islands, remember to buy mosquito
repellents, mosquito nets and to take a few long sleeve shirts

malaria. Even there are no cases in Bali, the situation is different

- When you get reef cuts, wash and disinfect well and use some
kind of strong medicine such as triple antibiotic cream or beta

called Tieh ta yao gin that
is more commonly used by the surf crew that come more often to
the island. I prefer to give a good wash in my cuts with clean
water and then rub some lemon on it to after that put the Chinese
medicine to make sure to have killed all the bacteria's and germs.
In case of bigger cuts, seek medical attention in one of the emergency
rooms or hospitals in the area.
1. CALL
Check the victim for unresponsiveness. If there is no response,
Call the emergency number and return to the victim. In most locations
the emergency dispatcher can assist you with CPR instructions.
2. BLOW
Tilt the head back and listen for breathing. If not breathing
normally, pinch nose and cover the mouth with yours and blow until
you see the chest rise. Give 2 breaths. Each breath should take
1 second.
3. PUMP
If the victim is still not breathing normally, coughing or moving,
begin chest compressions. Push down on the chest 11/2 to 2 inches
30 times right between the nipples. Pump at the rate of 100/minute,
faster than once per second.
CONTINUE WITH 2 BREATHS AND 30 PUMPS UNTIL HELP ARRIVES
NOTE: This ratio is the same
for one-person & two-person CPR. In two-person CPR the person
pumping the chest stops while the other gives mouth-to-mouth breathing.
